This listing is for a hand-dyed black silk organza scarf made by textile artist, Amber Coppings (me!). Wear it loosely over your shoulders, tied in the front, or on the side, or wrap it around your neck for gorgeous volume. You will be so beautiful while you wear it!
The surface design of the fabric was created using Japanese Shibori Itajime designs. Basically, this means I folded the cloth in certain ways that have been passed down for generations in Japanese communities. Then, the folded fabric is clamped between two pieces of wood and dyed. After the dyeing process, the clamps come off, the cloth is washed several times and the beautiful, ethereal design stays permanently in the cloth.
The shawl is about 20" wide x 2.5 yards long. The scarf will come with one hand-dyed black ribbon to tie the scarf around your body in various ways. This scarf would look great paired with a black, red, or other vivid tone outfit on any body shape.
Care: Hand wash cool water and air dry, or dry clean.
